Gayle Ross is a direct descendant of John Ross, Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation during the Trail of Tears. It is from this rich Native American heritage that Gayle's storytelling springs. A professional teller for 19 years, she has five award-winning books in print, along with two critically acclaimed audio tapes. Gayle has been named to the Circle of Excellence by the National Storytelling Association, and was the 1997 Wordcraft Circle Storyteller of the Year (National Association of American Indian Writers and Storytellers). Performance highlights include the Discovery Channel, Kennedy Center, Smithsonian, and tours throughout North America and Europe.
