Kerrville New Folk Award Winner, Louise Mosrie has
been busy writing new songs since she moved to
Nashville
in 2004. Her new CD, Home, will be released this
Fall.
Louise
grew up in the small town of
McEwen
, TN on a farm with British parents and several
siblings, writing poetry and singing with the
radio. After college in
Knoxville
, she "borrowed" her brother's Sears
guitar, bought a simple chord book and started
writing songs. Louise writes in many genres but
has finally settled on Americana/folk as her most
natural voice. She gets compared to Nanci
Griffith, Lucinda Williams and Patty Loveless.
She’s shared the stage with Jonatha Brooke,
Allison Moorer, Greg Trooper, Marcia Ball, Mindy
Smith & Michelle Malone.
