Afternoon Concert - Threadgill Theater

A 2009 Kerrville New Folk Award Winner, Louise Mosrie has been busy writing new songs since she moved to Nashville in 2004. Her new CD, Home, will be released this Fall.

Louise grew up in the small town of McEwen , TN on a farm with British parents and several siblings, writing poetry and singing with the radio. After college in Knoxville , she "borrowed" her brother's Sears guitar, bought a simple chord book and started writing songs. Louise writes in many genres but has finally settled on Americana/folk as her most natural voice. She gets compared to Nanci Griffith, Lucinda Williams and Patty Loveless. She’s shared the stage with Jonatha Brooke, Allison Moorer, Greg Trooper, Marcia Ball, Mindy Smith & Michelle Malone.
